PFAC grateful for Cruisin’ Kentucky Derby support
Creative Cruisin’ event replaces usual fundraiser during coronavirus pandemic shut down

The coronavirus pandemic has thrown a big monkey wrench in everyone’s plans for the first half of 2020, and many non-profits have had their annual fundraisers cancelled due to public safety quarantines. People have come up with a lot of creative ideas to fundraise for their favorite causes while still maintaining the required social distancing.
The Pinedale Fine Arts Council had to cancel their annual Kentucky Derby fundraising event. Paige Harrell and Elisha Haley of Pinedale came up with the idea of Cruising main street as a fundraising opportunity. People aren’t allowed to gather in groups due to COVID-19, but they are allowed to travel around in their cars, so the idea was perfect.
The event was held on Friday, April 24th at 7PM. PFAC invited everyone to dress up, wear a Derby hat and come on out to cruise Pine Street in downtown Pinedale. They had popcorn for donation on Pine Street. KFZE 104.3 FM Radio playied favorite cruisin' tunes. And there was a special appearance by Jason Tyler Burton singing "My Old Kentucky Home." There were trophies for Best Hat, Best Dressed and Best Car (PFAC already had them made and dated 2020 - so they figured they might as well award them.) According to PFAC Executive Director Kari DeWitt, the Cruisin’ Kentucky Derby in Pinedale raised $14,149.12.
"Thank you to all the individuals who gave $20 or $40 or more. Thanks to the little kid who gave me $2.12 in pennies and dimes. Thanks to the businesses who gave their $500 VIP donations - even if they didn't get a big fundraiser party.
Thanks to Paige Harrell and Elisha Haley for including us in this amazing idea! Thanks to Blushing Crow Studio, LLC - Based in Wyoming, Tara Bolgiano and Allison Bolgiano for running the photo booth. Thanks to our PFAC interns Addy Bennett, Preslie Simkins and Adrianna Ruby for helping sell popcorn. Thanks to Wind River Brewing Company for continuing to give us free office space. Thanks to Flicks N' Pins, Altitude Drug LLC, Old Stones Smokehouse & Country Pizza for helping support us. Thanks to Pinedale Online for the support and helping spread the word.
This money sets us up to launch next year’s school programs without having to dig out of a hole. We are ready to go! See you this Summer outdoors and see you next Fall in the Pinedale and Big Piney schools. THANK YOU!! #SubletteStrong. We live in the best community ever!"
