24-year old Sidney Edward died in March 1918 during WW1. He died when the hospital he was in was bombed by an airplane. He was one of two men from Pinedale killed during WW1. He was in the hospital recovering from an attack of appendicitis. Clifford Phillips was killed by a sniper in July 1918. He is buried in France. The Phillips-Edwards Post 47 of the American Legion in Pinedale was named after these two fallen soldiers. |
