A bill that would remove federal protections for wolf populations in Wyoming and in the Great Lakes states was met with a nod of approval from the U.S. Senate's Environment and Public Works Committee this week.
Wolf delisting was proposed by U.S. Senator John Barrasso as an amendment to the Sportsmen's Act, legislation addressing recreational hunting, fishing, and shooting.
The bill, with Barrassso's successful amendment, can now be scheduled for consideration by the full Senate.
