It’s that time of year again where we all start working on our summer schedules. I know summer is hard to imagine with all the white stuff still out there, but the Pinedale Travel and Tourism Commission is encouraging you to get a jump on your event planning by applying for a Grant. If you are planning a tourism friendly local event that is expected to bring out of Town guests or participants to Pinedale you may be eligible. There is an application process and a selection criteria. The grant process is made available as a result of funds that the Pinedale Travel and Tourism Commission has earmarked for distribution of the Pinedale Lodging Tax directly into the community. So if you or your organization has an event that you think will be of benefit to our community and bring in travelers, please don’t hesitate to ask for information. Examples of events that have been supported in the past are the Pinedale Half Marathon, Rendezvous Rodeo, the Rendezvous Pageant, Pinedale Hockey Association Tournaments, the Pinedale Fine Arts Council Soundcheck Music Series and more.

In the next month, we have several events that Pinedale Travel and Tourism is proud to be a part of.

January 30th don’t miss the One Lunger race at the Cora Downs. The Pinedale Snow Explorers are geared up and ready to race. Then get the track groomed up- the First Ever XMR Race to hit the Cora Downs takes place February 13th and 14th. This fun filled action packed weekend is open to spectators and racers. The Pinedale segment of the Eukanuba Stage Stop Sled Dog Race starts February 3rd in the Upper Green River Trailhead parking area. You can also meet the mushers the night before (February 2nd) at 6 PM at the Sublette County Library.

Then Main Street Pinedale, partnered with numerous community organizations, kicks off the Pinedale Winter Carnival February 19th with a blazing bonfire party. Don’t miss your chance to compete in and watch the wild and crazy action. Check out www.mainstreetpinedale.com.
