EUKANUBA™ Stage Stop Race Day 6 is Big Piney/Marbleton Stage Stop

Day 6 Stage Stop of the 323-mile EUKANUBA™ Stage Stop sled dog race will be held in Big Piney/Marbleton on Thursday, February 4th. This leg of the race is 43 miles and is a loop race. It will start at 9AM from the Middle Piney Parking Area and Trailhead and is estimated to finish around 2:00PM. Spectators are welcome (bundle up!).
Celebrating its 21st anniversary, the EUKANUBA™ Stage Stop Race makes sled dog racing more accessible to the general public, as well as showcases the beautiful state of Wyoming. The event features 13 mushers and their dog teams, who’ll race more than 323 miles over the course of eight days while visiting several different cities. The racers compete for a prize purse of $195,000, but communities along the route also win because of donations to area shelters and other charities. Junior Mushers representing Big Piney/Marbleton are Kaleb Miller, Kelby Staley.
In addition to the EUKANUBA™ Stage Stop Race, 14 additional competitors will be participating in the PEDIGREE® 8-Dog Classic Race, which is a two-day race (January 30 – February 1) that will visit Driggs, Idaho and Alpine, Wyoming.
The Big Piney/Marbleton community will host a Mushers Banquet on Wednesday evening, February 3rd at the Southwest Sublette County Pioneers Senior Center in Marbleton starting at 6PM. Everyone welcome to come for great food, meet the mushers, get autographs and hear live music.
