Here are answers to some questions we’ve been asked lately.
Has Fremont Lake frozen over yet? Yes, it froze over last week with the cold weather and people are out ice fishing on it now.
Is the Town of Pinedale charging water according to the metering now? No. The Town does not have all the meters installed yet. They are not set up to collect information from the installed meters at this time. They hope to be able start collecting data in 45 days. They need to collect data for a year so they can set their base rates. They will not set rates without a series of public meetings. The Town wants to get all the input they can get. The new water bill format will help when they do use water meter data for billing. However, the new bills have nothing to do with starting water metering for billing purposes. Plumbers from Westwood Curtis are in the process of replacing some defective water meters – the Town apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause anyone. They appreciate everyone’s cooperation through this process. The Town reminds residents on town water to be sure to keep a bleeder line running at all times during the winter to avoid water line freeze ups. If anyone has any questions, they encourage you to call or stop by the Pinedale Town Hall, 307-367-4136, 210 W Pine Street.
When is Green River Rendezvous this year? Green River Rendezvous Days are always the second FULL weekend in July, making it Thursday through Sunday, July 9-12th for 2015. We strongly recommend making your room reservations well in advance if you plan to attend, as the motels & hotels book up for this event. Vendors, contact the Sublette County Chamber of Commerce early if you want a booth for the street fair downtown during Rendezvous, 307-367-2242. The complete schedule is a work in progress and will be posted as soon as the Chamber is able to herd all the cats and get an idea of everything going on for this year’s event. It is always a lot of fun with lots going on – this is Pinedale’s biggest event of the year. See our Pinedale tourism website for lots of great area information, www.visitpinedale.org.
How much snow do you have in the mountains for snowmobiling? The NRCS SNOTEL website gives real-time snow-depth information for the Upper Green River Basin. Click here to get to their map and snow telemetry info: www.wcc.nrcs.usda.gov/snow/index.html
