Fontenelle Fire grows to 2,000 acres
Incident Management Team will assist with Fontenelle Fire

Big Piney, Wyo. – The Bridger-Teton National Forest has requested a Type 2 Incident Management Team to assist with the suppression of the Fontenelle Fire in Lincoln County, Wyoming. A Type 2 Incident Management Team is needed when an incident extends beyond the capabilities for local control and is expected to go into multiple operational periods. A Type 2 incident may require the response of resources out of area, including regional and/or national resources, to effectively manage the operations, command, and general staffing. The 2000-acre Fontenelle Fire was reported on the Bridger-Teton National Forest around 4:30pm on Sunday, June 24. The fire is burning in both Sublette and Lincoln counties and has jumped into Snider Basin. The cause of this fire is under investigation. It is burning in heavy dead and fallen timber. The fire is located approximately 33-miles northwest of the community of La Barge Wyoming. The fire danger rating for the area is "High". For additional information, visit www.inciweb.org
