8 vie for Sublette County Commission seat

As of June 1, 2012, the deadline for filing for candidacy for Sublette County positions, eight people had filed for Sublette County Commissioner. Seven filed as Republicans and one as a Democrat.
Candidates are:
Ernie Kawa, Pinedale, Republican
James S. Latta, Pinedale, Republican
John Linn, Big Piney (incumbent), Republican
Kay Malkowski, Daniel, Republican
Roman (Rocky) C. Piernick, Big Piney, Republican
Paul Rock, Pinedale, Republican
Courtney Jay Skinner, Democrat
Douglas Vickrey, Daniel, Republican
As of the date of this article, there is only one open seat on the Sublette County Commission Board. However, this has been challenged in a lawsuit filed on May 23rd. Candidates Paul Rock and Ernie Kawa sued the County and asked the Court to declare the May 8, 2012 Special Election illegal in order to allow the August 11, 2011 Special Election results to go into effect, which increased the commission from 3 to 5 members. In the May 8, 2012 Special Election, voters overturned increasing the board membership. No court date has been scheduled on this lawsuit.
