Critical Mass Bike Ride in Pinedale May 20
May 16, 2011
Biking enthusiasts are invited to take part in the ‘Critical Mass Bike Ride’ in Pinedale on Friday, May 20th.
"This is a bike ride around town to simply celebrate the joy and right of bike riding," said Kaitlyn McAvoy. The ride begins at 6 p.m. on Friday, May 20. Meet at 5:45 p.m. at the American Legion parking lot on N. Madison Ave. The ride begins there and ends at the Pinedale Skate Park. Part of the ride will take place on Pine Street. All ages are welcome. Helmets encouraged! Visit "Critical Mass Pinedale" on Facebook.
WHAT’S A CRITICAL MASS? "It’s a bike ride, with a buncha people. We mass together and ride together. Safely. And by the law. The purpose is not to create a disturbance, though we ride on the street, but to demand respect for the two-wheel riders in town. Just like the drivers in their diesel trucks, we too have the right to ride! Come celebrate that right on a leisurely ride through the neighborhood with your friends, neighbors and fellow bicyclists! (Again, a CM is intended to be a celebration, not an opportunity to cause trouble!)" – Flyer poster (PDF)
