The Chronicle Journal of Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada reports that two bad winters and heavy predation by wolves are taking a hard toll on the local deer population. The number of deer in the region has crashed by half, and officials estimate that 40 percent of fawns could be stillborn this spring.
