Boulder Landscape Plan meeting April 27
Pinedale BLM seeks public comment

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Pinedale Field Office will host a public meeting on the proposed Boulder Landscape Plan on Monday, April 27, 2009. The meeting will be held at the Pinedale Field Office at 1625 W. Pine Street in Pinedale, Wyo., and is scheduled to run from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
"We intend to develop about 12 landscape plans across the Pinedale planning area over the next several years," said Chuck Otto, Pinedale Field Manager. "The Boulder Landscape Plan will complete the transportation mapping and planning we committed to in the Resource Management Plan (RMP), as well as completing all requirements for rangeland health and renewal of grazing permits on 21 allotments in the area," he explained.
Otto said they would like to hear from the public on such issues as recreation, work or other pursuits, and potential management actions or projects that could be implemented in the Boulder landscape. "We are most interested in hearing about roads and trails in the area that the public use or that need to be kept open, restricted, or closed; and would also like their input on erosion or other road problems that need repair or maintenance," he stated.
The input from the public meeting and any written comments received will be used to develop alternatives for an environmental assessment (EA) to be completed for the Boulder Landscape Plan. Input from BLM staff and cooperating agencies will also be used in this process. Written comments on the Boulder Landscape Plan process will be accepted at the meeting or through regular mail or email. "Comments will be most useful if we receive them by Wednesday, May 20," said Otto, "but we will make every attempt to utilize all the submissions we receive."
