Nikki Mann took this photo of deer on a ridge looking down the valley towards Boulder and the Mesa beyond. Deer are moving onto their winter ranges. This year, snow is late in covering the ground, making conditions less harsh for wildlife. Animals typically would be contending with a foot or more of snow by now in a typical year.
