This past week, The Pinedale Fine Arts Council presented California-based and Grammy-nominated storyteller Diane Ferlatte to young student in Pinedale, Big Piney and LaBarge as an artist-in-residence.
Along with guitarist Eric Pearson, Diane told kids numerous stories and tales all of which taught not only life lessons but also incorporated elements of verse structure and sign language as well. Many of Aesop's Fables were told and many a traditional song was sung. Diane performed six different sessions with Pinedale's K-2 grades, then performed for the entire Big Piney K-2, stopped for a show at the Big Piney library for preschoolers and then made her way to LaBarge where we she performed again for K-2 students.
On Thursday evening, Diane and Eric performed for the community in the Sublette County Library's Lovatt Room in Pinedale.
