US 191/189 CLOSED due to slide in Hoback Canyon

8:13 AM Update, Tuesday, January 15: The Sublette County Sheriff’s Office is advising that a slide in the Hoback Canyon on US 191/189 has completely blocked the road.
The slide occurred at milepost 157. Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) has been notified and is on the way working to clear the slide from the north and south directions.
US 191/189 is currently CLOSED until the slide is cleared.
Earlier this morning, WYDOT posted “No Unnecessary Travel” and ‘Black Ice” Advisories for US 191/189 between Bondurant to Jackson, as well as for the Snake River Canyon to Alpine Junction.
Pinedale area roads are reported as slick in spots with snowfall.
Roads get better further south in Sublette County in the Big Piney, LaBarge, Farson areas reporting slick in spots, dry portions as of the time of this report.
