The Sublette County Museum Board is rewriting and replacing all of its interpretive signs in the county. The original large wooden signs have been in place in some cases for more than 40 years.

The wooden signs are being replaced with cast aluminum signs. The new metal signs were obtained through David Klaren/Dire Wolf Studios in Pinedale and were purchased with county funds.

Dale Jensen, Sublette County Museum Board Chairman, and John Dickie, Big Piney metalsmith, installed several of the new historical signs last week.

The new signs are cast aluminum, which will be more maintenance free than the old wooden signs. The old signs were given to the Green River Valley Museum in Big Piney.

    Elaborate sign top decoration
Big Piney welder and artist, John Dickie, designed the elaborate custom tops for each of the marker signs. Each has a different scene, depicting something explained in the sign. For more of John's custom ironwork, visit his website: www.johndickie.com
