Temporary closures on Greys River Road in June
Two-hour closures for road surface work
by Bridger-Teton National Forest
May 25, 2007
The Bridger-Teton National Forest is advising the public they will implement a temporary road closure on the Greys River Road beginning June 1, 2007. The Greys River Road will be closed for two hours on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from June 1 – June 15, 2007 to allow for an application of magnesium chloride dust, if the weather stays favorable for application.
The closure is needed in order to allow for the spreading and curing of the product. The two-hour timeframe is required to allow penetration of the product into the road surface, reduce the impact on vehicles of the traveling public, and to eliminate the potential sloppy conditions of the road surface following application.
The project is expected to conclude June 15, 2007, and closures will not occur during the weekends. The contractor is scheduled to begin at mile-marker 35 and work towards the town of Alpine.
