Lander Trail tour Members of the Oregon-California Trail Association (OCTA), and local residents, went on a tour of the Lander Cut-off of the Oregon Trail on Saturday. This year marks the 150th anniversary of this historic trail. Many sections of the Lander Trail in Sublette County are on public land and are driveable. (A high-clearance, 4-wheel drive vehicle is recommended.)
Maps of the trail are available from the Pinedale Field Office of the Bureau of Land Management. Note, some sections are on private property and do not have public access, so please pay attention to property ownership if you do this trip. Travel may require passing through some closed gates. Please leave gates the way you find them (close again if closed, leave open if open).
