The Green River Valley Land Trust is hosting a John Wayne Film Festival on Saturday, May 26, at the Pinedale High School Auditorium, in honor of his 100th Anniversary. The Trust is also raffling off a special edition commemorative John Wayne Anniversary Saddle. Tickets cost $100 and only 150 are being sold. The saddle is valued at $10,000. Tickets area available from: Bank of Sublette County, the Cowboy Shop, First State Bank of Pinedale, Flat Creek Saddle Shop and Office Outlets.
The Green River Valley Land Trust will featuring two John Wayne movie screenings on Saturday, Tickets are $5.00. "The Cowboys" will screen at 4:15 p.m. The one where the young schoolboys help take the cattle to Belle Fouche, South Dakota. During Intermission, the GRVLT will announce the winner of the John Wayne Saddle and have birthday cake refreshments to celebrate 100 years of "The Duke" "True Grit" will screen at 7:00 p.m. This was John Wayne's only Oscar winning performance for his portrayal of Rooster Cogburn.
Both films will last 128 minutes.
