(Cheyenne) - As the University of Wyoming’s school symbol of a bucking horse and rider competes against Michigan State’s mascot in a lighthearted contest called the “Most Dominant College Mascot on Earth” competition, Gov. Dave Freudenthal encourages all the state’s Cowboys fans to go online and show their support by voting for the University of Wyoming symbol.

More than 1.24 million people have already voted for their preference in the finals of this year's Sportsline.com mascot contest. The voting ends on May 18.

Freudenthal said it’s a fun way to show support for the state’s only four-year institution.

“After the exciting women’s basketball season, this is a way to extend Cowboy fever into the summer,” Freudenthal said as he cast his online vote. “Go WYO!”
