“Between Fences” Community Art Project
A Smithsonian Exhibit coming to the Sublette County Library in Pinedale Sept 22 to Nov 10
May 18, 2007
This year, the Sublette County Library, in partnership with Museum on Main Street and the Wyoming Humanities Council, will be presenting “BETWEEN FENCES”, a traveling Smithsonian exhibition that explores the significance of fences and boundaries in American culture.
As part of the many events that will be presented around the County in support of the exhibit, the Sublette County Library will be hosting a Fence Art project to create a one of a kind piece of community art in our County. Starting May 19th, individuals or organizations can pick up a fence post at the main library in Pinedale, the branch library inBig Piney or at Rendezvous Point to take home and paint, decorate, or do whatever arty thing you can think of! The posts will be due back to either library by July 19th. Soon after a real fence will be assembled to display all the decorated posts.
Creating a fence that unites Sublette County residents, not divides them!
Prizes will be awarded for creative entries. Questions or need more information? Please call the Sublette County Library at 307-367-4114 and ask for Sukey or Ana.
