The Wyoming Transportation Commission awarded contracts for nearly $18.4 million for ten highway projects around the state during its January meeting in Cheyenne recently.

In Sublette County, H-K Contactors of Idaho Falls was awarded a $1.9 million contract for two road improvements projects in Daniel and Big Piney.

One project is for extension of the Big Piney/Marbleton pedestrian bicycle path to the Sublette County Fairgrounds to the north. Road work in the Big Piney area involves resurfacing on North and Norris streets and Beach Avenue.

The Daniel area roadwork involves a pavement overlay of four miles of US 189 from its junction with US 191 to about two miles south of Daniel.

All the work is expected to be done by October 15, 2007.
