Dedication highlights Arbor Day in Pinedale
May 18, 2006
The dedication of Burzlander Park will highlight Pinedale’s Arbor Day festivities on Friday, May 19th at 10:00 am. The new park will be located next to "Sled Hill."
Mayor Rose Skinner will preside over the festivities, which will include the planting of several trees donated by the Town of Pinedale, the Sage and Snow Garden Club and Sally Swift. A memorial stone will be unveiled to honor Buzz and Doris Burzlander who were an integral part of the Pinedale community for over fifty years. They were killed in a car accident near Pinedale in July, 2005.
Chris Fallon, of the Wyoming State Forestry office, will bestow the Town of Pinedale with the Tree City USA award. Pinedale has been honored with the Tree City USA award for fourteen years.
The Pinedale Elementary third grade classes will present a special Arbor Day Program. The third grade classes have been very involved in the Arbor Day programs for many years and have decorated shopping sacks for Faler’s General Store to mark this Arbor Day celebration. The Natural Resources Conservation Service will give each third grader a tree to plant.
The Pinedale Arbor Day program is free to the public.
