No injuries in Jonah rig fire

No injuries were reported at a fire at Ensign drilling rig #28 at the Stud Horse Butte #3-33 location last Thursday, September 8th. Sublette County Sheriff’s officers, volunteer firefighters from Big Piney, Pinedale and Boulder Fire Departments, and Pinedale Ambulance responded to the scene in the Jonah Field, south of Pinedale.
The incident occurred at approximately 3 pm and EnCana’s emergency response plan was immediately implemented. The immediate area was evacuated for safety and the fire was contained within an hour and suppressed by 8 pm. The Wyoming Oil and Gas Commission, Bureau of Land Management and other officials were notified, according to a news release by the Sublette County Sheriff's Office.
