| Title: | Planning & Zoning Technician |
| Description: | Experience Required Required Education and Experience Associates degree from an accredited college or university OR One (1) to three (3) years of experience OR Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities.
Required Licenses or Certifications Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Wyoming Driver’s License and maintain an acceptable driving record.
Essential Responsibilities - Updates and maintains a variety of electronic and paper files, records, reports, and documents. - Receives documents, technical records, and applications; checks documents for validity and accuracy of information; files paperwork and enters data into department computer systems; reports discrepancies to supervisor. - Office administration duties, provides a variety of clerical and office assistance duties such as filing, scanning, making and distributing copies, answering phones, processing mail, etc. - Willingness to attend evening meetings, on an as needed basis. - Process invoices and deposits. - Provides customer service, information, and assistance to visitors and others having business with the County; responds to requests for information within the scope of authority. - Supports relationship between Sublette County staff and general public by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with visitors and County staff; maintains confidentiality of work-related issues and County information. - Willing to go to onsite wastewater and other relevant trainings (septic, planning) - Assist with site visits and on-site inspections - Research assigned projects, past permits, regulations, and regulations compliance. - Conduct phone calls and draft emails and summary reports related to compliance issues. - Research regulation, policies, records, internet and publications. - Coordination with the Assessors Office and updating files, as needed. - Help improve permit applications and workflow within the office. - Helps maintain the information on the department’s webpage.
Knowledge, skills & abilities - Ability to utilize computer programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel, Adobe acrobat (pdfs). - Effective oral and written communication. - Ability to communicate with the public. - Willingness to assist with septic field inspections and site visits related to compliance. - Website and marketing skills preferred. - Desire to learn and ability to work with small team. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Ability to interpret and apply planning policies and regulations. - Ability to write and create documents. - Research and summarize information. - Ability to establish positive relationships with public officials, community members and stakeholders.
Benefits Pay: dependent on experience, salary range of $48,000 - DOQ Job Type: Full-time Paid employee health/dental insurance, HSA contribution, life flight coverage, retirement, paid vacation, paid sick leave, paid holidays, life insurance, and disability insurance.
